MANCHESTER, NH – For the second time in as many days, Manchester Police responded to a call for shots fired South Street, near Lowell Street. The latest incident took place July 8 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the same area.

Responding officers located a 9mm shell casing in between the driveway of 245 Lowell St. and 13 South St.  The intended target of last night’s incident has yet to be determined and it is unknown if it is the same individual as the previous night. Police are still working on identifying the shooter in each of the two shootings.

Two neighbors told police they may have seen a potential shooter in the area prior to the shooting and described him as possibly Hispanic or African-American. The suspect may have had on a winter style hat, to include ear flaps and appeared to be wearing dark colored clothing. 

Investigators believe the ongoing violence may be gang related and are following up on numerous leads to identify all parties involved. Chief Willard has implemented a plan of action to locate, identify and speak with alleged gang members possibly involved in the surge in violence. Manchester Police, at the direction of Chief Willard, will take a zero tolerance approach to ensure the protection of life and property of all of the innocent, hardworking individuals in the close-knit neighborhood.
