Police release identity of victim — but few details — in July 19 fatal assault

MANCHESTER, NH — Police have released the name of the man who died following a July 19 assault.

Urban Cannon, 32, of Manchester, succumbed to his injuries on July 24, 2018 and investigators are still seeking information from anyone who may have been present at the time of the assault.

The Manchester Police Department, in conjunction with the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of Mr. Cannon. Please contact the Manchester Police Detective Division at 603-668-8711 with information regarding the deadly assault, especially anyone who may have witnessed the assault. 

As previously reported, Mr. Cannon was found unconscious in an alley just off Central Street in the early morning hours of July 19. Officers were called to the scene at approximately 1 a.m. for a report of a man who was found unconscious in the alley. Mr. Cannon sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The investigation is active and ongoing, so no further information is being released by authorities.
