Police make arrest in ‘Meals on Wheels’ armed robbery

MANCHESTER, NH — A man wanted in connection with several recent crimes, including the May 1 armed robbery of a Meals on Wheels volunteer, was arrested Wednesday.

On May 2, 2018 at approximately 6:15 p.m. Detectives Derek Cataldo and Mark Harrington of the Manchester Police Street Crime Unit were in the area of Manchester and Lincoln streets. They along with other plain clothes units were looking for a suspect wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies that occurred over the past few weeks. Through the subsequent investigations Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Richard Feliciano, 28, of Manchester.

While in the area of the Hillsborough Market the detectives observed the suspect walk out from the rear of an address onto Lincoln Street. Detective Cataldo approached Feliciano and identified himself as a police officer. Feliciano immediately fled easterly in the alley between Merrimack  and Manchester streets. Responding officers began flooding the area and setting up a perimeter as the foot pursuit continued. Feliciano was ultimately taken into custody by Detective Cataldo after he observed him attempt to hide under a parked vehicle.

Feliciano is being charged with the armed robbery of the Rite Aid on Mammoth Road which occurred on April 20, 2018, the attempted armed robbery of the Meals on Wheels driver from May 1, 2018, three counts of resisting arrest/detention one count from the May 1 incident the second count from today’s foot pursuit, and a third count from another incident in which Feliciano fled from officers after a motor vehicle stop and lastly he is being charged with a misdemeanor theft from another agency.
