MANCHESTER, NH – Police have shut down a section of Silver Street between Wilson and Lincoln due to a reported shooting incident.

Just before 2 p.m.police were called to the 500 block of Silver Street where residents reported hearing gunfire. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a small gathering of people outside arguing just before the gunfire.

“I was inside and all of a sudden I heard the shots – I heard bang-bang-bang-bang,” said resident Cindy O’Rourke. “I opened the window to see if I could see anything, and I couldn’t see up the road, but I saw a silver car come flying down the road that way. And then of course the police showed up, thank God. I was really scared because I figured someone got shot.”

Detectives were collecting shell casings from the scene. Police have not confirmed any evidence of a shooting victim, according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe.
