MANCHESTER, NH – On July 15 at approximately 1:07 p.m. Manchester Police Department Patrol Division responded to 486 Spruce Street for a report of a suspicious odor and what the reporting party believed to be a meth lab.

Arriving officers located several items they believed to be used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine in the basement. As a result, the building was evacuated as a precaution and a small child was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The Manchester Fire Department along with the Drug Enforcement Administration responded to the location and removed several items. At this time the investigation is on going and anyone with information is asked to contact the Manchester Police Department.

Due to the toxic and explosive potential for drug-making materials, the apartments in the building were evacuated.
