MANCHESTER, NH — On September 27, 2019, around 11 p.m., Manchester Police responded to Arms Park for the report of several gunshots being fired in the area.

Officers found several shell casings and one car that had sustained damage as a result of the shooting.

Manchester Police are in the process of retrieving surveillance video from buildings in the area.

At about 11 a.m. police issued a follow-up press release that included comments from Chief Carlo Capano:

We are continuing to investigate last night’s incidents of shots fired in the area of Arms Park.  As we responded to the original call at Arms Park, a short time later a male individual known to the Manchester Police Department arrived at the CMC Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the arm. The injuries sustained by the individual who walked into the CMC were determined to be a non-life threatening injury.  The male subject is known to the Manchester Police Department and has been completely uncooperative with our investigators.

“I have talked about this many times, and  stressed that cooperation is always an essential part of any police investigation,” says Chief Carlo Capano. “The continued refusal from victims and witnesses to cooperate directly effects our ability to do our job.  These incidents require cooperation so we can properly investigate and hold those accountable for their crimes.”

As we continue to investigate this serious incident, we ask that if you have any information to contact the Manchester Police Department.  As we stated in our original press release from last night’s shooting incident, we do not believe this incident is random.  The individuals involved are known to our agency, and we believe this is an isolated incident between parties that know one another.   Once we have more information available, and we are able to, we will provide an update.
You can provide information by contacting the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711, you can also contact Manchester Crimeline and provide an anonymous tip at 603-624-4040. Arms Park is located next to the Merrimack River behind Commercial Street.
