MANCHESTER, NH – Police are investigating a home invasion reported Aug. 11.

Manchester Police arrived at 148 Flaherty Lane just after 3 p.m. Thursday for a report of an assault inside of the apartment. Upon arrival, they spoke with the 34-year-old male victim, who told officers two men entered his apartment and assaulted him.

The victim said both men were wearing black bandanas over their faces and each was armed with a handgun at the time of the incident. The victim attempted to fight off the men with a baseball bat as several gunshots were fired inside of the apartment. He dropped the bat and fled the apartment but was caught by one of the assailants who proceeded to strike him with the bat. He sustained injuries to his hand and face and was taken to Catholic Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Multiple officers converged on the apartment complex in an attempt to locate the two suspects who they believed may have been inside the apartment house. The victim described them as follows: One of the intruders was approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 inches tall, 160 pounds, blond hair, light-colored eyes and unknown clothing. The other one was described as approximately 6-feet-tall, 220 pounds, with short “jet black” hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a white shirt and black pants at the time of the incident.

Investigators do not believe this was a random attack and are following up on several leads. Detectives did locate evidence at the scene confirming several gunshots were fired inside of the apartment. If you have information leading to the identification of the suspects, please contact the Manchester Police Detective Unit at 603-792-5500 or Manchester Police Crime Line on the web.
