MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester police are investigating three armed robberies that happened between 8:30 p.m. on April 6 and 4 a.m. on April 7. In all three incidents, victims provided a similar description of the robber. Police are still investigating whether the three robberies may be linked.

The first robbery was reported at about 8:30 p.m. at Shaw’s Corner Market, 912 Somerville St. The robber fled with cash after displaying a handgun. He was described as a white male wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt and  blue bandanna covering his face. He was wearing white surgical gloves and holding a black semi-automatic style handgun. He was last seen fleeing on foot from the store.

The second robbery was reported at 3:30 a.m., at the 7-Eleven. 111 Webster St. Officer Clifford Ellston responded to the convenience store and spoke with the store clerk who told police a robber walked into his store brandishing a black, semi-automatic style handgun and said “give me your money,” but the clerk opted not to hand over cash. Instead, he secured himself inside of a locked office while the suspect fled the scene empty handed. The robber was described as 5-foot-9 inches tall, skinny build and possibly Hispanic. The clerk said he detected the robber was speaking with a Spanish accent. The clothing description generally matched the description of the first robbery.

The third armed robbery was called in 20 minutes later at the Hess station, 805 Massabesic St. Both early morning robberies reported the same modus operandi by a robber with the same general physical description.

The last robbery occurred 20 minutes later at the Hess gas station. The clerk told police the robber was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a dark-colored bandanna over his face during the attempted robbery. He said the bandana had a skull-and-crossbones design, and that he was armed with a black, semi-automatic style handgun. The clerk also said he did not detect an accent when the robber said, “give me your money.”

All clerks described the robbers as a male between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 with a thin build. Two of the three clerks described the robber as a white male, however one of the clerks felt the robber was of Hispanic descent. All three described similar clothing, including a bandanna.

Detectives are following up on the case. This is an active investigation, so details are limited at this time. It is too early to determine if the same individual can be linked to the three robberies.
