Police arrest 13 during Operation Granite Shield drug sweep

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Police Department Special Enforcement Division, in conjunction with New Hampshire State Police, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Rockingham County Sherriff’s Office spearheaded a drug sweep as part of Operation Granite Shield. The operation commenced early this morning and concluded at 9 p.m. on Feb. 15. The Manchester Police SWAT team also participated in a series of arrests for wanted individuals throughout the day.

Operation Granite Shield kicked off approximately 6 a.m. Thursday in search of wanted subjects connected to illegal drug use and/or sales within the Queen City. The operation yielded 13 arrests and the following items were seized; one handgun, over 70 grams of heroin, over 18 grams of crack cocaine, 2 grams of cocaine, $447 cash and a vehicle.

Mayor Joyce Craig joined MPD to observe the police action, and posted the following via Facebook:

“This morning, I joined Manchester NH Police for a briefing and raid on a known drug house in Manchester. The precision and professionalism they displayed was remarkable. I am incredibly thankful for them — and all the men and women dedicated to getting drugs off the street and keeping our city safe.”

The first arrest occurred at 515 Hall St. when the SWAT team conducted a search warrant. They located and arrested Carlos Delgado, 28, of Hall Street. They located a Ruger 9 mm handgun, $447 cash, 30 grams of heroin, 18 grams of crack cocaine and oune once of marijuana.

Arthur Lynch, 31, of Manchester, was arrested at his Kenberma Street home at 8:55 a.m. He was arrested on a warrant for sale/manufacture of a controlled drug.

Darrell Scott

Darrell Scott, 33, of Deerfield,  was arrested at 9:35 a.m. in the area of Amherst and Maple streets during a motor vehicle stop. Scott was charged with possession of a controlled drug after the officers located .15 grams of crack cocaine inside his vehicle.

Bobby Johnson

Bobby Johnson, 36, of Manchester, New Hampshire was taken into custody in the area of Amherst Street and Lincoln Street at 11:20 a.m. He was charged with several outstanding warrants for sale of a controlled drug. He was also in possession of 1gram crack cocaine and .7 grams of heroin.

Amanda Taylor, 29, of Manchester, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. at 559 Lincoln St. She was wanted for an outstanding drug court warrant.

Mark Loiselle

Mark Loiselle, 32, of Bedford, was arrested at 12 p.m. in his home town. He was taken into custody on a possession of controlled drug arrest warrant.

James Canney

James Canney, 52, of Raymond,  was arrested outside of 325 Amherst St. at approximately 12 p.m. during a search of the address completed by the Manchester Police SWAT team. The warrant out of Merrimack County Court was for controlled drug act.

Joseph Flynn

Joseph Flynn, 52, of Amherst St., was arrested at his Amherst Street address approximately 12 p.m. on a Manchester warrant for two counts sale of a controlled drug. He was in possession of .6 grams of heroin and .9 grams of crack cocaine.

Tiffani Ulrich, 21, no fixed address, was arrested on an electronic bench warrant at 5:15 p.m. in the area of 15 Willow Street.

Carlos Delgado

Timothy Sowa, 28 of Manchester, New Hampshire was arrested at 414 North Bend Road during a wanted check at 3:50 p.m. He was in possession of 1.1 grams crack cocaine and 27.4 grams of heroin at the time of his arrest, so he was additionally charged with two counts possession of controlled drug and the two drug related arrest warrants.


Detectives stopped a motor vehicle at 4:35 p.m. in the area of Elm and Orange streets and arrested all three occupants. The operator of the vehicle, Gerald Marsh, 21, of Warner, was arrested and charged with a Merrimack County drug warrant.

His passenger’s Rosalie Dirisio, 29 of Manchester, New Hampshire was in possession of 2.1 grams of heroin, so she was charged with possession of controlled drug. The rear passenger, Wayne Luce, 52 of Manchester, New Hampshire was arrested in the area of Elm Street and Orange Street. He was in possession of 6.1 grams of heroin, so he too was charged with possession of controlled drug.
