MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Police Department’s Special Enforcement Division initiated an operation utilizing funds from the opioid reduction grant as part of the ongoing Granite Shield enforcement to rid the city of those dealing and/or using drugs within Queen City limits.

The operation took place throughout the city on May 2, beginning with a sweep by members of the Street Crime Unit and Special Investigations Unit at 93 Laurel Street. There they rounded up nine people and executed a search warrant.

Police originally knocked on the door of 93 Laurel St. in an attempt to locate a wanted subject who ended up not being home. However, one of the persons in the residence, later identified as Darius Weekly, 24, of Manchester, attempted to escape by climbing out of a second story window while another was arrested inside of the home.

Officers executed a search warrant inside of the Laurel Street apartment and seized the following; 301 Xanax pills (street value $4,500), 339 Oxycodone (street value $10,000), 40.5 grams marijuana (street value $500) 5.3 grams fentanyl (street value $500), 5.9 grams cocaine (street value $1,200), along with scales used to weigh the drugs, packaging materials and cutting agents.
