MANCHESTER, NH – A man wanted by police in connection with a Sept. 8 stabbing incident was arrested Sept. 9 behind his Massabesic Street residence, charged with first-degree assault and first-degree attempted assault.

Derek Sedita, 32, of Manchester, was named by police as a “person of interest” in a Tuesday stabbing incident that left one man injured. Police found Sedita at about 12:45 p.m., on Sept. 9 behind his residence. He was initially arrested on an electronic bench warrant, unrelated to the stabbing. The assault charges were brought against him Sept 10.

Police allege Sedita engaged in a physical confrontation with the victim and is accused of stabbing him with a knife. At some point in the confrontation Sedita is accused of firing a round from a shotgun, missing the victim.

When arrested Wednesday by police, Sedita was found to be in possession of prescription pills (11 10mg-Suboxone and 16 10mg- Ambien), so he was additionally charged with possession of a controlled drug and violation of bail conditions. (He was out on bail form a previous incident in August of 2015).

Sedita was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on September 10, 2015 for the aforementioned charges.
