MANCHESTER, NH – For Millyard workers, getting to work is a daily hassle made worse by limited parking and expanded hiring.
A consortium of DEKA and Dartmouth-Hitchcock, which formed ARMI, a tissue regeneration business, filed a design for a Millyard People Mover to the state Department of Transportation (DOT) in January. It would create, “a substantive parking structure / transit terminus at the reconfigured Exit 6 interchange,” coupled with a light rail line that would cross the Merrimack River and run south through the Millyard.
The final design awaits completion of the design for the I-293 infrastructure improvements along the F. E. Everett Turnpike and its interchanges with Exits 6 and 7.
The DOT will hold an information meeting today at 6:30 p.m. at Northwest Elementary School, 300 Youville Street, to obtain community input on the highway project.
