Field Hockey

The ninth-ranked Penmen set a program record for wins in a regular season with their 2-0 victory over the University of New Haven.

Sophomore Meaghan Wile (Littleton, Mass.) had both goals as Graduate student Melanie Rennie (Madison, Conn.) turned aside the only two shots she faced to earn her second shutout of the season and No. 13 of her career.

The Penmen’s previous record came last year, which was also set with a win over New Haven.

Women’s Soccer

Junior Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) had two goals as the 22nd ranked Penmen earned a 4-0 victory over Assumption.

Patterson’s two goals were sandwiched by goals from sophomore Dorhea Glorud (Brumunddal, Norway) and senior Alexis Fruzzetti (Hanson, Mass.)

Sophomore goalie Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) stopped all nine shots she faced for her third shutout of the season.

SNHU has now won five of its last six, including four straight, while halting Assumption’s four-match winning streak.

The Penmen (9-3-0, 6-3-0 Northeast-10) return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 22 (3 p.m.) when they take on Bentley University.

Men’s Soccer

Freshman Sinisa Sprecakovic (Mannheim, Germany) and senior Michael Goncalves (Ludlow, Mass.) both scored goals, but the Penmen couldn’t find a victory against LeMoyne, ending with a 2-2 draw.

Goncalves, who put the Penmen up, 2-1, in the 52nd minute, has now scored in three of the last four matches, including two straight.

The Penmen outshot the Dolphins, 21-11, including 6-2 in the pair of overtime sessions.

Southern New Hampshire is unbeaten over its last four contests (2-0-2) and are 2-0-3 over their last five meetings with Le Moyne and extend their home unbeaten streak versus the Dolphins to 10 (6-0-4). The last time Le Moyne beat SNHU in Manchester was Oct. 23, 2004 (2-1).

The Penmen (4-4-3, 2-3-2 Northeast-10) return to action Wednesday, Oct. 23 (3 p.m.) when they take on Saint Michael’s College.

Women’s Volleyball

The Penmen left Delaware with a pair of victories, taking a four-set win against Mercy and a four-set win against Wilmington (Del.)

Senior Baylee Lippincott (Phoenix, Ariz.) had 21 kills. Freshman Juliana Pacini (Sao Paolo, Brazil) had 31 kills and 26 digs.

SNHU (10-8) plays Saint Michael’s College on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.

Men’s Golf

Freshman Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) fired a 1-under 71 Saturday at the final round of the Le Moyne Fall Invitational, as the Southern New Hampshire University men’s golf team wrapped up the season in a three-way tie for third place at the Lake Shore Yacht Club in Cicero, N.Y.

Mscisz, who was tied for third after a 70 in the opening round, wound up tying for second with a 3-under 141 that had him just a shot off the pace.

The Penmen are now off until the spring.
