A pair of overtimes made little difference, as the Penmen drew 2-2 against Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y. on Saturday.

Southern New Hampshire got the first goal of the match in the 27th minute from junior Nadjib Chibout (Lyon, France) and got the last goal of the match from graduate student João Brum (Ribeira Grande, Portugal) with just seconds left in regulation.

SNHU outshot the Golden Knights 23-9 and had a 6-3 edge on corners.

The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Rose 19-1-1.

SNHU (3-4-2, 1-3-1 NE-10) will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 12 with American International College paying a visit to Penmen Stadium at 7 p.m.

Women’s Soccer

Meanwhile, the 21st ranked women got the job done back home, defeating #19 Pace, 4-1.

Senior Shae Roys (North Billerica, Mass.) equalized things in the 19th minute and sophomore Sydney Carney (Northborough, Mass.) got what was ultimately the game winning goal two minutes later.

Sophomore Dorthea Giorud (Brumunddal, Norway) added two more goals on both sides of halftime to provide the Penmen with some insurance.

The Penmen (6-3-0, 4-3-0 NE-10) return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 8 with a 3:00 p.m. non-conference contest at Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Women’s Tennis

Stonehill suffered its first loss of the year, with SNHU walking away with a 4-3 win on Saturday.

The Penmen swept all three doubles matches, with freshman Magadelena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic), freshman Isabella Andrade (Cochabamba, Bolivia) and sophomore Elizabeth Dwyer (Cutchogue, N.Y.) each taking their singles matches in straight sets.

This marked the first Northeast-10 regular season loss since 2016.

The Penmen (7-1, 6-1 NE-10) are home on Sunday, Oct. 6 (1 p.m.) to play Saint Michael’s College at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.
