Texting and driving is a habit that’s hard to break for those who think they can sneak in a quick #TTYL while navigating a 3,000-pound killing machine down a narrow roadway, without looking.
The “It Can Wait” campaign from AT&T is pushing for a new trend – post a #X to Twitter or FB before you get behind the wheel, code for “I’m driving, so you won’t be hearing from me until I park it.”
You can also create a shortcut following the easy steps found here at the campaign website, itcanwait.com.
Would be interesting to see our schools promote this – and for parents to put it into practice, too, since I know kids aren’t the only ones susceptible to texting and driving, and statistically, make up a much smaller percentage of total drivers.
One more reminder: Earlier this year Gov. Maggie Hassan signed HB 1360 into law, which restricts the use of cell phone and other hand-held electronics while driving. It goes into effect July 15, 2015.
Now you know.
