MANCHESTER, NH — Around 2:20 p.m. July 18, 2019, Manchester Police responded to Elm Street and Harry Theo Lane for a report of an accident involving a pedestrian. When police got there, they found a man was lying on the ground with blood on his face.
Witnesses told police that they saw a car drive into the Meineke on Elm Street and two men inside the car were arguing. The passenger allegedly punched the driver in the face and then got out of the car. The male passenger crossed over Harry Theo Lane and was almost to the sidewalk when the car he had been in allegedly sped toward him and hit him.
The victim went up and over the hood before falling onto the sidewalk. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver, identified as Philip Perez, 50, of Manchester, was located by police at his home. He did have a nose injury and was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault and conduct after an accident.
Perez will be in Hillsborough Superior Court – North on August 1, 2019.
