Parents charged in shooting incident involving child, 7

MANCHESTER, NH — The parents of a 7-year-old child treated at a local hospital Thursday for a gunshot wound turned themselves in Friday after police issued warrants for their arrest.

On Aug. 16,  2018, at approximately 8 p.m., Manchester Police Department patrol officers responded to a local hospital for the report of a 7 year old with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  An investigation was initiated to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.

As a result of this investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for the child’s father, Miguel Roman, 30, of Manchester, and the child’s mother, Jennifer Puglisi, 29, of Manchester.

They were arrested without incident at 39 Walnut St. Roman was charged with reckless conduct, falsifying physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a child or incompetent. Puglisi was charged with reckless conduct, and endangering the welfare of a child or incompetent.

No other details of the incident we’re released by police at this time. However, WMUR reports the child shot himself in the leg while playing with his father’s gun. You can read more here.

Both parents are expected to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on August 20, 2018.
