CONCORD, NH –  The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation is pleased to collaborate with author and investigative reporter Josh Levs to bring the topics of Family Friendly Workplaces and Paid Family Leave to the forefront of business, community, and political conversations across the Granite State in September.  The NH Women’s Foundation is hosting an “All In NH” Tour with Josh Levs on September 16-17, 2015.  The tour will include events in Nashua, Manchester, Concord, and Exeter and is being sponsored by Lovering Volvo and The Sedoric Group.

Levs-BookshotLevs is the author of All In: How Our Work-First Culture Fails Dads, Families, and Businesses-And How We Can Fix It Together. After 20 years of reporting for NPR and CNN, Levs, a father of three, is focused on dispelling myths about today’s parents, explaining the necessity of new policies such as paid family leave.

During the “All In NH” Tour, Levs will share his own story of taking on a policy at Time Warner that prevented him from being able to care for his newborn, preemie daughter and sick wife. As a result of his legal action and the publicity surrounding them, the company revolutionized its policy.

According to Terie Norelli, President and CEO of the NH Women’s Foundation, “Every week, we’re hearing news about large and small companies putting more emphasis on becoming a more family friendly workplace. The practices include, but aren’t limited to flex-time, accommodating nursing mothers, and paid leave.  Paid leave is resonating especially strong right now with recent national announcements by Netflix, Facebook, and Microsoft.  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Josh on the topic of paid leave and look forward to discussing his experience and proposed solutions to address the challenge while he is in New Hampshire.”

Levs has recently met with Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill, pushing support for Paid Family Leave. He also recently teamed up with the non-partisan NH Women’s Foundation to make paid family leave a key issue in the First in the Nation Presidential Primary, a plan that he announced in a Father’s Day editorial for the Concord Monitor.
