MANCHESTER, NH —A ll are welcome to join the Manchester Artists Association (MAA) as they present the 2018 New Hampshire High School Senior Scholarship Award at Jupiter Hall during Manchester Trolley Nights: Explore Arts & Culture, featuring MAA members’ work on Thursday July 26, 2018 between 5-8 p.m.

Jacqueline Perry, a senior at Keene High School, will be this year’s $500 scholarship recipient, chosen from among 22 applications from 21 different schools across the state.

Student artwork was judged on artistic expression, unique depiction of subject matter, creative ability, composition, use of color, detail, technical ability and overall presentation. The Scholarship Committee was very pleased at the quality of work produced by the high school applicants.  Six extremely talented and closely-rated finalists were selected for a portfolio presentation and review.

Jacqueline will attend Connecticut College in the fall.

Founded in 1966, the MAA was established as a non-profit, non-juried organization to provide fellowship, education and incentive to artists who are engaged or interested in the pursuit of fine art. Each year the MAA awards a $500 scholarship to an outstanding high school senior who is pursuing post-secondary education and a career in fine arts.

One young artist stood out and the Manchester Artists Association is pleased to announce that Jacqueline Perry of Keene High School has been awarded the 2018 New Hampshire High School Senior Scholarship.  Congratulations to Jacqueline who will be attending Connecticut College this fall.

The Committee also wishes to congratulate Zachary Drouin of Campbell High School and Marie Bonefant of Winnacunnet High School who were both awarded Honorable Mentions for their artwork.
