MANCHESTER, NH – On June 7 Old Sol will present its 2nd Annual Summer Serve-a-thon & Concert at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, home of the NH Fisher Cats. Organized in partnership with EndHungerNE and sponsored by St. Mary’s Bank, Outdoor Pride, and the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, the event will kick off with 100+ community volunteers packaging 22,000 ready-to-cook meals for local food alleviation organizations. Following the service project, the bar will open and one-man band The Suitcase Junket will take to the ballpark’s new Plaza Stage to close out the evening as the sun sets over the Merrimack River. Tickets for the all ages show are $10 and available through oldsol.org/events.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event featuring Bella’s Bartok, Old Sol is excited to welcome The Suitcase Junket to Manchester. Performing a unique blend of original rock anthems, mountain ballads, blues manifestos and dance-hall festivity, The Suitcase Junket plays on instruments built of broken bottles, twisted forks, dried bones, gas cans, shoes, saw blades, a toy keyboard, and an overhead compartment worth of luggage.

If you’re interested in serving as a Team Leader and recruiting three other volunteers for the pre-show service project, please sign up here or email Cal Inguanti (cinguanti@oldsol.org).

If your company or organization is interested in sponsoring the Summer Serve-a-thon & Concert, please email Alyssa Solomon (alyssa@oldsol.org).

The Suitcase Junket is Matt Lorenz: artist, tinkerer, swamp yankee, one-man band. His is the road-worn voice rising over the grind of a tube-amped dumpster guitar, and the wild double pitches of throat singing. From Lorenz’ penchant for thrift and ingenuity comes Pile Driver, a full-length album of original rock anthems, mountain ballads, blues manifestos and dance-hall festivity released April 21st. EndHungerNE is the regional affiliate of Outreach, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides food, safe water, medical care, and education.
