MANCHESTER, NH – A Manchester patrol officer was treated and released Sept. 4 from a local hospital for carbon monoxide exposure.

Officer Kyle Daly was on patrol at approximately 5:30 p.m. Monday night when the carbon monoxide detector alarm inside of his Ford police SUV sounded. The detector was recently added to the fleet of 14 police SUVs as a precaution, after news that police SUVs in some municipalities were plagued with carbon monoxide issues.

Officer Daly followed protocol by pulling over and exiting the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital by one of his coworkers and treated for carbon monoxide exposure. The vehicle was immediately taken out of service and sent to a Ford dealership. Fleet maintenance believes the source of the leak may have occurred from a cracked manifold.

Officer Daly was released from the hospital Monday night and is expected to return to full duty Tuesday.
