The 13th Annual Footrace for the Fallen Presented By Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019.

The race, which is planned by the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) and Manchester Police Department, will start in front of the Manchester Police Department (405 Valley Street, Manchester, NH) and end inside Gill Stadium (396 Valley Street, Manchester, NH). Bib pick-up begins at 8:30 am and the race kicks off at 10:15 am. Registration is $25 online or $30 day-of for youth (ages 17 and under) and $30 online or $35 day-of for adults (ages 18+); all ages and abilities are welcome.

The race honors Manchester’s fallen officers, Sergeant Henry McAllister, Inspector William Moher, Officer Ralph Miller, and Officer Michael Briggs, and all officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Proceeds from the race will benefit MPAL, a center-city organization that brings cops and kids together through athletic and enrichment programs to build champions in and out of the gym. A donation is also made to the Hundred Club of New Hampshire, which provides scholarships and financial assistance to the widows and children of New Hampshire law enforcement officers and firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The first 500 people to register will receive a free race shirt. After participants cross the finish line on the football field, they are invited to enjoy time with friends and family with food, drinks, music, massages, awards, and more.

“We are excited to be hosting the Footrace for the Fallen Presented by Anthem once again as a way to remember our fallen officers and support the at-risk youth that MPAL serves,” said Ariel Kapteyn, MPAL Director of Marketing and Co-Race Director. “The race continues to grow in size and fun every year, and this year will be no exception! We can’t wait to see everyone on October 6th.”

This year’s race is generously supported by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Members First Credit Union, Dartmouth Hitchcock, Becket Family of Services, Granite State Police Career Counseling LLC, Bedford Physical Therapy, DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown, Consolidated Communications, Macy Industries, Comcast, Ace Realty Group, Interim Healthcare, Veteran & First Responder Healthcare, Orangetheory Fitness Manchester, Shamrock 47 Design, American Medical Response, Harpoon Brewery, Bonfire Country Bar and Restaurant, Oakhurst Dairy, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Northern New England, Hannaford Supermarkets, Thin Blue Line USA, AAA Police Supply, Body Armor Outlet, and Cafe la Reine.
