MANCHESTER, NH — On Saturday, November 23, 96.5 The Mill will partner with six Hannaford locations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for its annual Tons of Turkeys food drive to benefit the Families in Transition-New Horizons’ Food Pantry and make sure those in need get a meal on Thanksgiving and beyond.

“It gives me great pride to see all my coworkers here at Manchester Radio Group come out and donate their time on the Saturday before Thanksgiving,” says General Manager Bob Cox. “The six Hannaford locations including Manchester, Bedford, and Goffstown take pride in this event and have a friendly competition to be the store that collects the most!” The turkeys, Hannaford Helping Hands Boxes, and Bags of Fixin’s will all be delivered that same day to families at the Families in Transition-New Horizons’ Food Pantry.

So far in 2019, Families in Transition – New Horizons provided shelter to 1,469 people, 151 of whom were children. In addition, they’ve prepared 166,624 meals in their soup kitchen and distributed 6,478 bags of nutritious food to individuals and families in their food pantry. The turkeys donated through 96.5 The Mill’s Tons of Turkeys are critically important to Families in Transition – New Horizons and their participants. Last year, they distributed almost 1,200 Thanksgiving food boxes and 1,000 Christmas food boxes thanks to the Tons of Turkeys food drive.
