MANCHESTER, NH – Velcro Industries, headquartered in Manchester, has launched a “Classroom Makeover” contest. Educators, parents, students and friends are invited to nominate a teacher to receive a complete classroom update and makeover.

Entry deadline is April 20.

In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8, 2015, the company and its brand ambassador Sabrina Soto  will select a winning classroom entry then re-design and organize that classroom by integrating VELCRO® Brand products and other lively design elements.

“Great teachers are inspiring and we’re hoping to foster and celebrate that quality by creating a truly beautiful, enjoyable and inspirational learning environment for an in-need classroom or community,” said Sabrina Soto, brand ambassador and design and lifestyle expert for Velcro Industries. “We’re thrilled to help create a highly organized classroom so that educators can focus on what they do best, which is teaching.”

Nominations for preschool through Grade 12 educational rooms are open to educators, students, parents or friends and must be received by April 30, 2015. All classrooms, resource rooms or formal learning areas are eligible for submissions. Entrants must submit two  photos of the room with a brief reason the educator and the classroom deserve to win through the WooBox Contest Application (highlighted on the VELCRO® Brand Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

“We consistently receive inquiries and requests from educators for our products to help them do everything from organize their classroom to showcase student work and implement tactical learning strategies,” said Julie Barry, Director of Global Brand, Velcro Industries. “In addition to the thousands of donations we provide to schools each year, this year we’re affirming our continuous commitment to education by overhauling a classroom and showing teachers just how much they’re appreciated.”

The winner will be selected and announced on May 5, 2015, on official National Teacher Appreciation Day. For additional rules or to enter, visit WooBox.
