No serious injuries in Dubuque Street crash caused by police officer

MANCHESTER, NH – A Manchester Police cruiser was involved in an accident Oct. 20 while responding to an accident with injury, police said.

On Thursday at 5:25 p.m., Officer Adam Cortese was responding to the area of Boynton Street for a motor vehicle accident involving injury. Officer Cortese was operating a fully marked 2013 Ford Explorer Manchester Police Cruiser with emergency lights activated.

Officer Cortese was traveling south on Dubuque Street when he collided with a 2011 Toyota Highlander, which was traveling west on Wayne Street. Both vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene.

The operator of the Toyota Highlander, Michael Camire, was not injured. The passenger complained of shoulder pain. Officer Cortese reported soreness to his knee. Both were evaluated by EMS and both refused medical treatment.

The accident is still under investigation. Preliminary information indicates that Officer Cortese failed to yield right-of-way at the intersection.
