CONCORD, NH – A Project WILD Aquatic and WET workshop is being offered on Friday, August 21, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at N.H. Fish and Game Headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord.  The cost is $100, and includes the workshop, two manuals, and snacks.  Space is limited, so register today.

The newly updated programs, Project WILD Aquatic and Project WET, are international, activity-based, supplementary curricula that support the teaching of conservation and environmental education concepts. Targeting classroom teachers and non-formal educators of K-12 students, both include manuals that are filled with activities that are interactive and interdisciplinary. While Project WILD Aquatic focuses on wildlife in aquatic environments, Project WET focuses on physical and chemical characteristics of water, its importance to all life and the management of water resources.

Workshop participants will receive both of the newly revised, award-winning projects WET and WILD Aquatic manuals that include activities that support many elements of the Next Generation Science Standards and which are aligned with state curriculum frameworks.  An increased focus on field investigations encourages students to create their own investigations, and collect and analyze data like real scientists.

To register or to learn more about this workshop and other upcoming workshops, visit the Project WILD and Project WILD Aquatic webpage at www.wildnh.com/education/project-wild.html or contact Mary Goodyear at N.H. Fish and Game at mary.goodyear@wildlife.nh.gov or (603) 271-6649.
