CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Immunization Program was recently honored with five awards for excellence in immunization to at the 48th annual National Immunization Conference, held recently in Atlanta, GA.
“I am so proud of our Immunization Program team and our health care providers throughout the state, and I have a deep appreciation for our external partners, including the New Hampshire Vaccine Association, our health insurers and legislators,” said Section Chief Colleen Haggerty. “They have supported us in eliminating barriers for vaccination for all of our children and adolescents, which positively impacts not only these children, but their families, schoolmates, communities and beyond. Our universal vaccine purchase program is a wonderful distinction in New Hampshire, demonstrating yet another commitment to assuring pathways to good health.”
The following awards were presented:
- Healthy People 2020 Immunization Coverage Award, Influenza Vaccination Among Children: In recognition of outstanding progress toward Healthy People 2020 target of 70% for influenza vaccination coverage among children aged 6 months-17 years during the 2016-2017 influenza season.
- Healthy People 2020 Immunization Coverage Award, Children Aged 19-35 Months: In recognition of outstanding progress toward the Healthy People 2020 targets for each of nine vaccines among children aged 19-35 months based on 2016 National Immunization Survey – Child data.
- Healthy People 2020 Immunization Coverage Award, Adolescents Aged 13-17 Years: In recognition of outstanding progress toward Healthy People 2020 targets for each of four vaccines among adolescents aged 13-17 years based on 2016 National Immunization Survey – Teen data.
- Immunization Coverage Award, Highest Td/Tdap Vaccination Coverage Among Adults Aged 18 Years and Older: In recognition of achieving highest Td/Tdap vaccination coverage among adults aged 18 years and older during 2016.
- Immunization Coverage Award, Highest Pneumococcal Vaccination Coverage Among Adults Aged 65 Years and Older: In recognition of highest pneumococcal vaccination coverage among adults aged 65 years and older during 2016.
