MANCHESTER, NHLate Night host Seth Meyers goes to bat for New Hampshire children at risk of abuse with this YouTube public service announcement highlighting the #iKNOWandTELL campaign, sponsored by Granite State Children’s Alliance.

In the 60-second spot Meyers shares some startling statistics – like, only 1 in 10 incidents of child abuse are ever reported, and that only 61 percent of Granite Staters know they are legally obligated to report suspected child abuse. That statistic comes from the Crimes Against Children Research Center at UNH.

The #iKNOWandTELL hashtag that goes with the campaign underscores the legal responsibility citizens have to report any sign of possible abuse involving children.

Meyers, a former Saturday Night Live cast member, was raised in Bedford and attended Manchester West High School.

Meyers calls the video a “public responsibility segment” and reminds us that information can be relayed anonymously to NH’s Division of Children, Youth and Families by calling (800) 894-5533 or by contacting your local police department.
