The Youth Leadership Academy will begin the Fall 2014 session on September 23 and runs until October 21, 2014. Manchester School District students who participate are eligible for school credits.
The participants will listen to various guest speakers, to include John Clayton, Richard Haines, members of the Board of Mayor and Alderman and members of the Manchester Police Department. The class is limited to 20 participants and will take place again in the Spring of 2015.
The academy is held every Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Manchester Police Department Community Room. The graduation ceremony will take place at Manchester City Hall on October 21. A special class on Saturday October 18 will take place at the Manchester Municipal Court. Participants do not have to be City residents. Any person interested in attending should email Officer John Levasseur of the Community Policing Division, jlevasseur@manchesternh.gov. He will make arrangements and provide the application.
