MANCHESTER, NH – On January 21, 2015 Officer Brett Fernald responded to 255 Douglas Street for a home invasion that was reported at 6:30 p.m. The victim alleged three Hispanic males entered his home and held him at knifepoint while removing several items from the home.

During the course of the struggle, he was able to break free from the assailant with the knife and the three men began to flee the apartment. However, the suspects allegedly grabbed a two-year old child and attempted to place the child inside of a vehicle which was parked outside. The father of the child fought with the alleged assailant and was able to take custody of his child before he was removed from the area.

The subject who allegedly took the child was later identified as Willy Valentin, 29, of Nashua. Detectives worked diligently on the case and prepared an arrest warrant for Valentin.

Valentin was apprehended in North Andover, MA, yesterday and is awaiting extradition to New Hampshire. He was charged with robbery and kidnapping, both felony level offenses. The ongoing investigation may result in further charges being filed against Valentin and the additional suspects.
