Hartford scored early on, as top Rockies prospect Ryan McMahon answering New Hampshire’s two first inning runs with a two-run homer, his second of the year.

The Yard Goats would tie the game once again in the second, answering New Hampshire’s two second inning runs thanks to a pair of Fisher Cat errors, but hits from Roemon Fields and Tim Lopes sparked a four-run fourth.

That would be enough to chase Yard Goats starter Parker French, who allowed six hits in three-and-a-third innings of work.

With the lead firmly in hand again, Fisher Cats hurler Francisco Rios shut down the Yard Goats, going five-and-a-third for his second straight win.

Although New Hampshire would retain the lead following their fourth inning rally, the offense continued for both sides before all was said and done, highlighted by additional homers from Hartford’s Drew Weeks and New Hampshire’s Jonathan Davis and Reese McGuire.

The series at Dunkin’ Donuts Park will conclude on Saturday night with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

New Hampshire (4-4) will seeking their fourth win in a row against righthander Luis Neibla (0-1, 12.46) while Hartford (3-5) will face Jon Harris (0-1, 13.50).
