ALTOONA, Penn. – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats left the Keystone State on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over the Altoona Curve.

Altoona was limited to just five hits on the day, three of which came in the third. However, it was Kevin Smith’s throwing error that allowed Brett Pope to score there in the third, a lone aberration in what was otherwise a near-spotless defensive day for the ‘Cats.

Patrick Murphy (4-5) lasted seven innings in the win, striking out five Altoona batters in the process. Jackson McClelland and Bryan Baker provided two innings of hitless relief to close out the contest, with McClelland and Baker earning their fourth hold and save of the season respectively.

At the plate, New Hampshire got 2-for-4 days from Forrest Wall and Santiago Espinal, with Espinal chipping in a pair of RBI. Nash Knight and Vinny Capra drove in the other runs, with Wall also contributing a double and two runs.

After an off day on Monday, New Hampshire returns home Tuesday to take on the Bowie Baysox at 5:34 p.m. Starters for the game have not been announced
