MANCHESTER, NH — On Wednesday, June 5 as an additional part of the Mac Gives Back initiative, Mr. Mac’s team served mac & cheese entrees, salads and cookies to about 50 kids at the Salvation Army Kids Café.

Typically, the Kids Café program feeds 60 to 100 young people four evenings per week during the school year, and 55 children five days per week during the summer!

“When we learned that so many children, right here in Manchester are going hungry, we had to do something,” Patrick Cain, co-founder of Mr. Mac’s, said.

The Mr. Mac’s team, lead by General Manager Rob Sideman, found the experience so rewarding, and they learned firsthand what it takes for the Salvation Army to feed these children on a weekly basis. The Mr. Mac’s mission of giving back to the community in this way proved to be very meaningful both for the children that were served as well as Mr. Mac’s staff. They were able to witness their efforts making a difference before their very eyes.

Manchester Salvation Army, Captain Michael Harper reports that this new program will make a huge difference for the Kids Café program.

May 1, 2019 through July 31, 2019, Mr. Mac’s will donate $1 for every Take & Bake order of their macaroni and cheese specialties, often described as the “best comfort food on the planet.” Funds raised during this time period will support the Manchester Salvation Army “Kids Café” a program that provides hot meals for area children.
