GLENS FALLS, NY â€“ The Manchester Monarchs couldn’t make it three wins in a row,and fell to the Adirondack Thunder, 4-1, Tuesday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

The Monarchs (36-23-7-4) dropped the season series to the Thunder (39-20-7-4) with a record of 6-8-0-1.

After a scoreless first period, the Thunder took the lead when Cameron Brown scored his 2nd goal of the season at 13:43 of the second period. Brown found the rebound from a Christopher Dienes shot to the right of Monarchs goaltender, Jack Flinn, and flipped a one-timer through Flinn’s five-hole, to put the Thunder up, 1-0.

The Thunder doubled their lead when Brock Montgomery scored his 9th goal of the year while on the power play at 18:47 of the middle frame. Montgomery tipped a Peter MacArthur shot from the left point past Flinn to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead.

Adirondack went up, 3-0, when Brian Ward notched his 26th tally of the season at 1:37 of the third stanza. Patch Alber sent the puck into the slot from the right wall where Ward redirected the puck past the glove of Flinn to give the Thunder a 3-0 advantage.

The Monarchs got on the board when Zac Lynch scored his 18th goal of the season at 5:36 of the third period. Lynch found the rebound off a shot from the stick of Daniel Doremus in the low slot and pushed the puck past Thunder goaltender, J.P. Anderson, to make the score, 3-1, Adirondack.

The Thunder sealed the deal when Gunnar Hughes pushed home an empty-net-goal at 19:09 of the third period. Hughes sent a backhander from just outside the Monarchs zone to notch his 12th goal of the season.

The Monarchs are back in action Friday, Apr. 7 (7:15 p.m.), when they visit the Brampton Beast for the first time this year to close out the regular season.
