MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed forward Adrian Kempe to an Amateur Try Out agreement (ATO).  He will be available for Friday’s game against the Portland Pirates, wearing number nine.

Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough made the announcement.

The 18-year-old left shot spent each of the last two seasons with Modo Hockey Örnsköldsvik of the Swedish Hockey League.  He totaled 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points in 95 games there.

The native of Kramfors, Sweden, set a career high with 17 points in 50 games this season (5 goals, 12 assists).  In this year’s World Junior Championship, Kempe tied for the most goals on Team Sweden with four and his eight points (4 assists) over six games tied for the third-most on the club.

The Kings selected him with the 29th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

The Monarchs will be home for the final weekend of the regular season with games against Portland on Friday and Worcester on Saturday.  They close out the regular season in Providence on Sunday.
