TOLEDO, OHIO – The Manchester Monarchs dropped their third straight contest, remaining winless for 2018 after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Toledo Walleye on Saturday night.

Toledo got goals early in the first and second periods from Austen Brassard and Shane Berschbach respectively, with Tyler Barnes adding a power play goal in the final minute of the contest for good measure.

Walleye netminder Matej Machovosky earned his first shutout in the ECHL and his first professional shutout in North American after accumulating 12 playing in the Czech Republic and nine as an amateur in the Ontario Hockey League.

The Monarchs are back in action Jan. 12 (7:00 p.m.) when they return home to play the Worcester Railers at SNHU Arena.
