WORCESTER, Mass. – The Manchester Monarchs have now won four straight games, following their 4-2 victory over the Worcester Railers on Friday night.

While Worcester outshot Manchester 37-24, only Barry Almeida’s pair of goals prevented Cole Kehler from getting a shutout.

Manchester’s Nick Pierog also had a pair of goals while Cory Ward and Zeb Knutson also contributed goals for the Monarchs in the third period.

The Monarchs have not lost since their sweep in Newfoundland, but they still lag ten points behind the Growlers in the North Division standings.

They’ll seek to rectify that on Saturday night with a trip to Portland where they will faceoff against the Maine Mariners.
