MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs continued to build their 2018-’19 roster with two more re-signings this week.

On Thursday, the Monarchs resigned forward Cory Ward, a two-year Monarchs veteran appearing in 22 games for the Monarchs last season.

Ward also played 23 games in the AHL last season, splitting time between the Ontario Reign and Springfield Thunderbirds.

Two days later, the Monarchs brought back defenseman Martin Nemcik.

Although Manchester did not name Nemcik to the playoff roster, the 24-year-old Slovakian was a key part of the Monarchs’ blue line efforts during the regular season, appearing in 56 ECHL contests.

Following five professional years in Slovakia, Nemcik appeared in just over 100 ECHL games before joining the Monarchs last year.

The Monarchs begin their season on the road against the Brampton Beast on Oct. 13, before coming home on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. to face the Newfoundland Growlers.
