ELMIRA, NY – A night after scoring seven goals, the Manchester Monarchs were blanked by Jason Kasdorf and the Elmira Jackals, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at First Arena.

The Monarchs (34-22-7-4) dropped their sixth game of the season to the Jackals (17-42-7-1), with two games remaining at SNHU Arena.

After a scoreless first 20 minutes, the Jackals opened the scoring at 15:46 of the second period when Nathan Moon scored his 10th goal of the season while on the power play. Moon grabbed the puck in the left circle and sent a shot on goal that deflected off the stick of Colton Saucerman that beat Monarchs goaltender, Jack Flinn, to give Elmira the 1-0 lead.

Elmira extended their lead when Kenton Miller scored his 30th goal of the season at 11:51 of the final frame. Miller tracked-down the loose puck in the Monarchs zone, shielded a defender on his back and fired a wrister past the glove of Flinn from the left dot to put the Jackals up, 2-0.

The Monarchs were not able to answer in the third period, and were held scoreless for just the second time this season.

The Monarchs return home to SNHU Arena on Saturday, Apr. 1 (6 p.m.), when the host the Elmira Jackals for two games on Fan Appreciation Weekend. Tickets for the remainder of the season are available, HERE.
