Mom charged with 2nd-degree murder in death of 21-month-old daughter

MANCHESTER, NH — Katlin Paquette, 22, has been charged with the murder of her daughter, 21-month-old Sadence (“Sadie”) Willott.

The announcement was made Sept. 26 jointly by New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Manchester Police Chief Enoch F. Willard.  .

The second-degree murder complaint charges Paquette with recklessly causing the death of Sadence Willott on  Sept. 5 “under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life.”

The AG’s office says Paquette “recklessly caused Sadence Willott’s death through an application of physical force causing Sadence to suffer a fatal brain injury.”

Katlin Paquette lived with Sadence at 437 Belmont St. in Manchester. On September 5, 2015, emergency crews were dispatched to that address for the report of an unresponsive child. Sadence was treated locally at Elliott Hospital, and then med-flighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon where she died the following day. An autopsy was conducted on September 8, 2015, by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Jennie V. Duval, M.D. Dr. Duval ruled Sadie’s manner of death as a homicide, with the cause of death as blunt impact head injuries.

Paquette’s arraignment is expected to take place sometime during the morning of September 28 at the 9th Circuit Court – District Division in Manchester.
