MANCHESTER, NH – A mother was taken into custody at 11:45 p.m. on February 15, 2017 after police responded to her Candia Road home for a reported stabbing. After an investigation, police arrested Evansgina Audy, 29, of Manchester, who allegedly stabbed her 16-month-old daughter in the back shortly before police arrived.
According to police a police narrative, Audy’s husband, William, awoke to find the bleeding toddler and “a despondent” wife. When he realized what had transpired, he immediately contacted police.
Officers Matthew Nocella and Michael Roscoe were first to arrive at the residence. They spoke with Audy and her husband while Manchester firefighters and paramedics treated the child. The officers took Audy into custody while the child was transported to the Elliot Hospital for a serious, but non-life threatening injury to her back. A knife was located on scene and placed into evidence.
Audy was charged with second-degree assault and preventative detention. She was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on February 16, 2017.
