DERRY, NH – It was part homecoming and total dream come true for Miss Rockingham County Holly Blanchard of Derry, who was crowned Miss New Hampshire 2015 May 2 during the annual Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Pageant at Stockbridge Theatre in Derry. The theatre is on the Pinkerton Academy campus, Blanchard’s alma mater.

Miss Manchester Lauren Percy was among the Top 10 finalists.

In her first unofficial statement issued following her crowning Saturday night, Blanchard posted the following blog post on the Miss New Hampshire Facebook page, describing her joy and gratitude to all those who helped her achieve her dream:

Last night was an absolute dream come true!!! I have been dreaming of becoming Miss New Hampshire since I was about 7 years old and last night I made that dreambecome a reality. My journey to becoming Miss NH 2015 began on the Stockbridge Theater stage 11 years ago when the very first Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding Teen competition was held. I am so honored and grateful to have the opportunity to represent our granite state this year! I will never be able to say thank you enough to the many people who have helped me accomplish this goal.

I am so lucky to have had you all in my lives for so long and I look forward to the year ahead.

You all played significant roles in helping me get to this point and I am so appreciative – Michelle, Wayne & Debbie, Kristin & Lisa, and Scott & Peter.
