Minimum security inmate walks away from Calumet House

MANCHESTER, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Corrections reports that a work release inmate is missing from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester.  On Wednesday, November 2, 2016, William Clayton Roy, 68, of Claremont, signed out of the facility for a private appointment at 1:18 p.m. but failed to return at 3:30 p.m. as scheduled.  He was placed on walkaway status a short time later.

Inmate Roy is described as a white male, 5 foot 8 inches tall, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.  He walks with a cane.

He was sentenced in Grafton County Superior Court to two 2 ½ – 6 year sentences for forgery with 249 days of time served credited to his sentence.  He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on May 12, 2014 and was eligible for parole on March 2, 2016. His maximum release date is September 3, 2018.

This is being investigated by the New Hampshire department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police.  If anyone has information on the whereabouts of this inmate they should contact the New Hampshire State Police or their local law enforcement agencies
