MANCHESTER, NH — Mimi Jones is all about that bass, bringing her unique sound, described as a delicate fusion of traditional and contemporary jazz, eclectic soul, funk, and rock.
The multi-talented bassist, vocalist, educator, composer, and jazz ambassador travels worldwide both solo and with extraordinary artists such as Kenny Barron, Lizz Wright, Beyonce, Terri Lyne Carrington, and the Tia Fuller Quartet. She has performed at festivals (Montreal, Edinburgh, Palm Springs, Monterey) and in venues (Small’s, Kennedy Center, Dizzy’s, Scullers) throughout the world.
She performs on Friday June 12 with the Mimi Jones Quartet — Jones on bass; Miki Hayama on piano; Mark Shim on sax/wind controller and Jonathan Barber on drums.
