In preparation for the upcoming primary election on September 11, 2018, we’ll be running down the who, what, where, and when in our weekly campaign round-up — the pre-game show for the state general election on November 6, 2018.

Congressional District 1

  • Eddie Edwards (R) published his responses to surveys. He won the 603 Alliance Straw Poll 50% to 49% over his primary opponent.
  • Andy Martin (R) joined the New Hampshire Farm Bureau Federation. He accepted the invitation to participate in the WMUR debate.
  • Deaglan McEachern (D) recorded a video with WMUR.
  • Mindi Messmer (D) discussed the state’s cancer clusters at The Bookery on Elm Street on August 23. She was endorsed by Dr. Nora Traviss, PhD. Professor of Environmental Studies at Keene State College. She was the latest among 120 NH leaders to be targeted by a neo-Nazi website because of a House Resolution she wrote last September condemning hate crimes and racism.
  • Terence O’Rourke (D) released documentation (DD-214) proving he is a combat veterab and challenged Maura Sullivan to share her proof. He is using his military experience to demand that the US “end its involvement in the endless, undeclared Wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Niger, and Syria.”
  • Chris Pappas (D) was endorsed by former Governor John Lynch.
  • Andy Sanborn (R) was interviewed on WMUR’s Close Up.

  • Maura Sullivan (D) issued a commercial on guns in schools.

Molly Kelly (D) was profiled on WMUR. She will appear at Assumption Greekfest on Saturday, August 24, at 111 Island Pond Road at 3:00 PM. Kelly and Senator Dan Feltes held a press conference in Concord on August 21 calling for action on DCYF, after publication of a Federal report that finds children not being kept safe and DCYF “not in substantial conformity” on key metrics. Her first television advertisement began airing on August 23. It  features her life story as a single mom. The campaign has raised $639K including $176K during this period from more than 1,900 donors, 74% of whom are from NH. She has more than $353K cash on hand. 80% of contributions were of $100 or less. She outraised Gov. Chris Sununu by $23K on the latest fundraising period.
  • Steve Marchand (D) was on The Exchange, was at a gubernatorial forum, and recorded a video, Silence is Complicity, in French.
  • WMUR-TV and the Union Leader will host a Democratic gubernatorial debate Tuesday, Sept. 4, 7:00 PM. Register.
