MANCHESTER, NH – Reflecting the rising demand for skilled workers in the area of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical technology, Manchester Community College is moving swiftly on a new facility to expand training and educational opportunities for students. Work has just begun on the latest addition to the MCC campus on Front Street. Soon it will house space for a program that boasts a 100 percent hiring rate upon graduation.

“Student demand for HVAC programs is strong because of the hiring rate,” explains Susan Huard, President of Manchester Community College. “This new facility gives us more room along with a unique opportunity to offer more advanced instruction to match recent changes in the HVAC field. In addition, we are adding new courses in electrical technology, featuring state of the art labs and more class space, which is desperately needed.”

The building, with its own advanced electrical and HVAC technology displayed in permanently exposed walls, will serve as a living classroom for students. Numerous local companies will help oversee construction and program development, and will be on hand to talk about the economic impact of the new facility. “This goes well beyond bricks and mortar,” says Paul Ramsey, VP of Eversource. “This advances the training and skill-building for a new wave of workers that the state needs now and into the future.”

This is a high-demand and good paying industry and this facility will soon offer advanced class offerings for those just entering the field or those already in the workforce hoping to enhance their skills.
