MANCHESTER, NH – A charity bingo and fundraiser is set for March 30 at Manchester Community College to benefit Annie’s Angels Chris’ Pets for Vets.

The event will run from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Student Center, 1066 Front St., in Manchester, and is organized jointly by the Kapa Beta Delta Club at Manchester Community College along with MCC Veterans and Helping Hands clubs.

Annie’s Angels Chris’ Pets for Vets was created to honor the memory of Christopher Journeau and help raise awareness about PSTD. Chris served with the U.S. Army, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team while fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom. At the age of 23 after returning home to Stratham, he took his own life. The end result was he had been suffering from PSTD and nobody knew it until it was too late. There is a strong emotional bond between a pet and a military vet that helps them cope with the stress and struggles of daily life, and that can lead them down the road to emotional recovery from PTSD.

There will be 18 rounds of bingo played. Bingo cards will be sold in packs of 5, 10, or 15 and sold for $1 per card. Bingo winners will receive donated prizes with a minimum value of $25. If you’re a Veteran, you can receive 5 free rounds of BINGO. There will be a variety of raffle items in addition to a 50/50 raffle.

In addition to the game, this event will showcase local, small businesses with products for sale.

Items will be collected for Veterans during the event to benefit The Tilton Home, and at the Liberty House. Donations of non-perishable items, canned goods, cereal, etc., as well as Slim Jim’s, Beef Jerky, breakfast bars, snacks, candy, 12-pack of soda, and toiletries can be dropped off on or before the March 30 Bingo Event in designated donation boxes.
