MANCHESTER, N.H. – Spending the weekend knocking on doors is crucial for any candidate running for office in New Hampshire, and with one last weekend before Tuesday’s election, both Manchester mayoral candidates rallied the troops on Saturday morning for one final canvass.

Supporters of challenger Victoria Sullivan were joined by New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R-Salem) at 9 a.m. at the Sullivan campaign’s office on Lowell Street across from the Red Arrow Diner.

“Manchester is a great city with great people, but it desperately needs new leadership,” said Sununu. “For too long, all you’ve heard out of Manchester’s City Hall is what they can’t get done. Vote for Victoria Sullivan on Tuesday November 5th for a leader who will impress you with what we can get done!”

The rally was one of several stops throughout the city on Saturday morning for Sullivan, who stated that Manchester is at a crossroads regarding violent crime, homicides and opioid deaths.

“While our city is facing a lot of serious problems, if we come together and implement many of the new plans I have discussed throughout my campaign, I am confident Manchester will shine again,” said Sullivan. “I look forward to a full weekend of knocking on doors and talking with voters in all corners of our city as we march towards victory on Tuesday.”

At 10 a.m., incumbent Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig also held a rally to fire-up her canvassers at the Craig campaign office near the corner of Porter Street and Mammoth Road.

“We’re excited to get out today to knock some more doors right through Tuesday,” said Craig. “Through our efforts as a community we’ve made real progress supporting our schools, growing our economy, and improving public safety, and together we’ll keep this momentum going.”

Craig was joined at the rally by N.H. First Congressional District Congressman Chris Pappas (D-Manchester), and U.S. Senators Maggie Hassan (D-Newfields) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury).

“Manchester families deserve a strong leader like Mayor Joyce Craig who works tirelessly to support our public school students and bolster the Queen City’s economy,” said Shaheen. “Joyce has fostered a collaborative culture at City Hall to make meaningful progress, boosting economic development, bringing 800 new high-paying jobs to Manchester, and strengthening our schools. I know Joyce will continue to deliver real results in her second term.”
