WINCHESTER, NH — It’s more than a Lindy hop, skip and jump to Winchester, but for a worthy cause, why not make a night of the May 5 USO-style Swing Dance benefit. Proceeds benefit our friends at Honor Flight New England, which has for the past nine years been flying aging veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the World War II Memorial, something many of them otherwise would never had been able to see in their lifetime. Honor Flight continues to serve the veterans of Korea and Vietnam.
On May 5 swing by the Winchester VFW post 3968, 38 Main St., in Winchester, and revive the excitement of the old USO dance hall days with The Butterfly Swing Band. Don’t have any moves? No problem, dance lessons will be held 6-7 p.m. followed by the dance from 7-10 p.m.
Cost is $10 per person. Raffle and light refreshments will be available. The event is a cash bar. Sponsored by VFW Auxiliaries of Charlestown, Claremont, Fitzwilliam, Hinsdale, Jaffrey, Keene, Milford, Winchester & Applewood-Genesis Nursing Home.
