MANCHESTER, NH — The Manchester Community Schools Winter Activity Calendar is out, offering a variety of free classes to the public.
Fitness classes are taught by YMCA instructors. Classes run Jan 4-April 22. No classes the week of February Vacation (Feb. 22-26.) Class descriptions follow. See chart for times and locations:
Zumba: Dance away stress and burn calories in an energized, high impact workout. Routines are inspired by a number of dance styles including Latin, Greek, Indian, and even hip hop. No dance experience is necessary.
Yoga: A practice designed for all fitness levels and a gentle way to experience moving your body through poses and sequences. A full body exercise, experience this mindful way to increase strength and flexibility.
Yoga & Strength: Yoga with a focus on strengthening and toning your core while invigorating your mind.
Cooking Matters: This hands-on cooking class covers meal preparation, grocery shopping, food budgeting and nutrition. Adult participants will take home a bag of groceries at the end of each class to recreate the meals they’ve learned in their own home.
